Unintentional dickhead. Tech lead at an e-commerce company (but this profile is personal, blah blah blah). Theme park nut, rower, comedy fan, like a bit of gardening and baking (not at the same time, nobody wants muddy cakes or floury flowers). Quite sweary. Also available on Bluesky and Instagram, sporadically posting to whichever I'm most in the mood for. Neurospicy/Gay-Ace-ish.

Well, that's quite irritating...

Linux/Firefox type people... any idea why, really very frequently, if I try to load a page in Firefox it instantly goes to the failure page in the screenshot, seemingly without even attempting to connect to it? Hitting refresh usually solves it (sometimes takes a couple of retries).

Am running Firefox on Endeavour OS on an old Intel-based MacBook Air.

I got the installer working. No WiFi, but you can’t have everything… I’ll sort that out later
Doing well…
Knocked up a quick web-based launcher to hit various services easily from a distance without fiddling around with tiny icons.
Nice and clean and reassembled
Sending nudes, Mastodon style.
Optical drive in my PC decided to spontaneously stop working this morning, after being completely fine yesterday. Just been up in the loft and dug this one out of my box of bits, I think it's actually the one that PC came with when new, but I replaced it almost immediately with one that did Blu Rays, as this only handles DVDs.

The last time I tried to buy a PC (like, 10 years ago), it was pretty simple - bigger number = better. So an i3 < i5 < i7 < i9, and then a big number on the end.

Anyway, 10 years later and I'm approaching the point where I might want to replace my desktop machine, and fuck me I don't understand current specs. Everything seems to just be a random string of characters.

I'm at Euston, and the WiFi on this train isn't working, but at least I brought something interesting to read... looking forward to reading @GarethDennis
