@ismh86 It has traditionally been that way due to one of the most important tenets of good visual design: it guides the eye. Darker contrasting colors leading the left-to-right scanning of the image is how all kinds of logos and icons are designed bc of how eyes and brains see stuff! Putting the all-but-transparent “white” side on the left breaks the visual cortex’s expected “hook” to even see the damn thing.

I’m annoyed at this because it’s so *stupid* of a design mistake.

Just a friendly reminder that the actress Ann Magnuson, who played Admiral Clancy in Picard, was also the lead singer of the 80s metal band Vulcan Death Grip.

Hey so the Gaiman article is really graphic and disturbing. The [CW:SA] goes without saying but it's not for vague mentions; specific assaults are described in detail.

And I'm just going to say this: it's okay not to read it.

Even if you're not a survivor. Even if your mental health is fine right now.

This reporting is necessary and important but that doesn't mean you specifically need to bear witness in this specific way.

@joesteel I’m just glad someone is documenting their forgetting TV+ exists to make me feel less alone is all.
The NY Times refuses to cover the murder of Yeremi Colino, which took place in Manhattan the same day as the murder of the UHC CEO, because Colino was an immigrant child killed by a white supremacist who asked whether he could speak English. Just like NYPD refuses to carry out the same kind of manhunt with hourly updates on the killer. They only care about corporate tycoons, not teenagers being killed. This is how they cover for the hate crime.
@gruber Jake Paul founded MVP, the promotion that put on the whole thing. Tyson took the L for the big money and the understanding Jake would not actually end him. *Loads* of pulled punches.
New Agents of SMOOCH!
We discuss Jane Eyre focusing on the 2011 movie and the book. While we like the moody story of Jane and her Mr. Rochester, we have a few suggestions for the next adaptation.

@chockenberry @tvaziri the people showing how Apple Intelligence summarized their texts in completely insane ways is much more effective

…albeit not as positive marketing

…and yeah they could be faked, but that people believe theoretical fakes bc Siri has been so bad for so long…hoo boy

@tvaziri coincidentally, this was one of the first things I watched when I got my OLED. Black and white, shot on film TV remastered for HD looks incredible on these things.
