@ismh86 It has traditionally been that way due to one of the most important tenets of good visual design: it guides the eye. Darker contrasting colors leading the left-to-right scanning of the image is how all kinds of logos and icons are designed bc of how eyes and brains see stuff! Putting the all-but-transparent “white” side on the left breaks the visual cortex’s expected “hook” to even see the damn thing.
I’m annoyed at this because it’s so *stupid* of a design mistake.
Hey so the Gaiman article is really graphic and disturbing. The [CW:SA] goes without saying but it's not for vague mentions; specific assaults are described in detail.
And I'm just going to say this: it's okay not to read it.
Even if you're not a survivor. Even if your mental health is fine right now.
This reporting is necessary and important but that doesn't mean you specifically need to bear witness in this specific way.
