Might want to save this one for future reference: there has been this high of ice cover in the eastern Bering Sea only a couple of times in the past 55 years. Sea surface temperatures are way above average in the Labrador Sea, especially where ice coverage is thin along the climatological ice edge. These warm anomalies also extend around Greenland toward Iceland for the February 2026 monthly mean.
