I’ve spent 20+ years in a career I hate. There are many reasons why it is not good for me mentally. The remarks like “I love that for you” from the admissions counselor in the “i hate my life so you should to” tone still piss me off. It is a privilege that I can go back to school again. I am acutely aware but it wasn’t without great sacrifice. I sold my mind and body to the government in trade for education and I will pay for it till the end of my days.
I hold a M.S. in Space Systems but, long story short, it is not my passion. I honestly hate it. I’ve been trying to decide if I should go back for an MFA in writing. The universities love to remind me that I would be “one of the older students on campus.” I feel like they should be convincing me why I should pour my money into their institution vs whatever this is. I am aware people did not stop reproducing after I entered this world. 🙄

For someone with #ADHD I cannot recommend listening to an audio book (usually at 1.5x speed) and reading at the same time. Full immersion bliss.
