It's still winter up in the mountains on northern Vancouver Island. A 4 days of heavy snowfall lead to a spectacular blue sky sunny weekend for backcountry skiing. In the center of the photo, 4 people can be seen traversing onto a cliff, high up on a snow-covered mountainside. The photo was taken from Mount Cain, looking east toward Kunnum Peak.
Hundreds of sea lions gathered for the herring spawn on Vancouver Island this year. It attracted orcas, of course. Bald eagles, shorebirds, ducks and gulls enjoyed the feast as well.
All images and footage in this video were taken from the shore. I organize photo tours on land each year during the herring spawn if you're interested...

Updating my website is part of my regular maintenance. This week I added new tours for 2028 and created new pages in my portfolio. One for Grizzly Bears: https://www.catherinebabault.com/grizzly-bears-on-vancouver-island
and the other for Flora on Vancouver Island: https://www.catherinebabault.com/flora-on-vancouver-island-1

Six of my prints will be on permanent display at the High Commission (Embassy) of Canada in Canberra, Australia. Four Canadian photographers from different parts of the country will have their work on display there to show the diversity of landscapes and wildlife in Canada.
Talking about prints, I have added 17 new prints on my website this afternoon. Take a look: https://www.catherinebabault.com/fine-art-prints

William Prince is very good as well, if you haven't heard of him.

An rising new musician, quite impressive. I saw Boy Golden as the opening act at a recent William Prince concert.
Liam Duncan has his own unique style. He describes it as alternative country but I'd place it more as a blues/rock style with a tinge of country.
