If I were any more confident using terminal in a way that has minimal chance of me suddenly erasing my entire hard-drive, I would set up a course to help other artists do this.
There are undeniable issues with AI: boosterism, ethics, sustainability, patriarchy and capitalism etc.
BUT Claude has just allowed me, someone who can just about handle using the command line, to specify and debug a python script that renames folders full of invoice.pdf files with date and order number, and creates a CSV of all of the costs and tax of the items in the orders. Which is pretty awesome for a sole trader trying to sort their very overdue self assessment.
Do I know any SEO folk who have a licensed copy of Screaming Frog and might be able to pull me three small reports? The sites are just over 500 pages and I can't afford £199 for something I use once every two years. :( #helpneeded

Charcoal making and drawing at Walderchain Wood, Canterbury

Join us for a fun and creative day making charcoal and exploring the many ways it can be used for mark making in your art. The class will be taught by...

(They’re kindly replacing my scissors, mind you. But the delicious irony is delicious.)

I am part of a collaborative drawing project with the British Museum at the moment (which is awesome). A couple of weeks ago I accidentally smuggled my favourite pair of scissors past security at the gates. They got mixed up with the scissors provided in the workshop, and now have disappeared in to the BM somewhere.

Museum Acquisitions, eh?

More kindness. More hope. More gentle curiosity. More care. More holding the space for all of us to make tiny steps towards a better world.
Also,
1. I need to sort out the white balance on my camera ffs.
2. I'm thinking about doing a series of portrait drawings of internet, tech, computing pioneers, ideally from zoom interviews. Who should I be talking to?
Bit of art news. I have some new drawing work up (and for sale!) as part of EKOH at the moment: some portrait work and two groups of 'Technical Drawings' - one based on the innards of ENIAC, and the other on the team who built the first nuclear reactor. You can drop in to see them over the next two weekends - 21-22 and 28029 October. All the deets: https://ekoh.org.uk/canterbury/ersham-cottage-16-new-dover-road/
