A short tale of confusion in 1m2 @Delijn

An older man walks up to me, lost. He wants to know where to take the bus home. All the signs around us say “download the app”. Apps are not enough to take you home, @Delijn

Our governments are demanding digital presence increasingly, which excludes so many people - whether it be temporarily (low battery) or all the time (no phone). #publictransport #servicedesign

Mini practical UX research session while doing frontdesk work at our beautiful #booktower library:
Lost students, looking for their exam room: 3
Lost tourists, looking for an exhibition: 2
Students looking for a place to study: 1
Person returning a book: 1 (but they were actually lost as well).

Conclusion 1 hour in: people get lost here and our naming is confusing #appliedUX #libraries

Even though I build software for the University of Ghent, I love doing front desk work sometimes. You get to do some qualitative #UXResearch without you even noticing... #appliedUX #libraries
My mind is bursting with ideas, I hope I can channel them with a sustainable rhythm at the Boekentoren in Ghent. Also, Brighton was an excellent location for this conference. Will return to this beautiful colourful city, I’m sure 💕 #UXLibs7 #uxlibs
Got some insights from Marie Oestergaard, the librarians of @sussexuni, Dr Arun Verma, Dr Victoria Olaniyan, Dr Clodagh Reid, Ned Potter and more brilliant speakers. Can’t wait to apply it.
It’s been a while since I’ve “played” while doing UX research. They forced the stuck up graphic designer in me to let go. I tried cognitive mapping and crafting (yeah, I know 🙀). I’ll definitely be using love- and breakup letters. And pimping your conference badge?! How cool is that. #uxlibs
Went to #UXLibs #UXLibs7 in Brighton this week. Too bad they aren’t on Mastodon, hopefully next year they will be #UXLibs8! Some highlights: what an incredible open and kind community this is. Sharing knowledge in a kind, non-stuck-up, inclusive way - aware that there’s always space to improve.
How are you managing user expectations in times of #chatGPT ?
