It's getting rather depressing that lately any time someone posts about their cool new project all I can think is "neat, but is it AI slop?", and the answer is usually "yes". 😔
@azonenberg oh, just noticed the precise positioning requirement. Depending on exactly what you need, maybe adding on a cheap Aliexpress XYZ stage may work.

@azonenberg yeah, I'd say either an indicator stand or similar arms for camera gear

"noga arm", "magic arm", or "friction arm" are good keywords to find some options in that style

@aa4hs unfortunately I think most if not all of it is AI slop 😔
@mid_kid at this point if I see a big table of constants I plug the first few into a search engine or github's code search before going further 😅

If you're a swiss resident ( or know one ... ) you can get a custom hardware design onto an ASIC for FREE !!!

You get back one chip with your design (and a bunch of others!) and some board to help bring up/testing.

Also, this is "resident", no need to be a student or at uni or anything, you just need a valid Swiss address ...

I know I might be repeating myself here because I mentioned it a few month back but this bear repeating IMHO.

little distraction during PCB assembly: WLCSP audio codec looked cool so I had to stop and get some microscope photos
@azonenberg ahh, thanks!
In the wide shot of it, it looks like there were some other designs on the wafer that were sliced through to cut this one out. (or maybe just test patterns?)

Here's a die shot of an RF MOSFET I fried. It's supposedly a Motorola RD01MUS1 (but could be a clone/fake).

I don't have (or want!) the chemicals to de-cap it properly so I tried the method of overheating the package & cracking it apart with pliers to pop out the die. Aside from a bit of epoxy still stuck to it, it worked out pretty well!
