PSA that the core markdown editor for Bear is available as a standalone file-based macOS app, and is by far the best way to view and edit md files on macOS:

OpenAI 'Superapp' to Merge ChatGPT, Codex, and Atlas Browser

OpenAI has a Mac "superapp" in development that unifies its ChatGPT app, Codex coding platform, and Atlas browser, reports The Wall Street...

Some good news: I don't know if Apple had a change of heart or what, but you *can* enable Xcode's intelligence features on the MacBook Neo with 8GB RAM, including ChatGPT and Codex support. Previously, this was limited to 16GB devices — I have no idea when that switch happened? 😯

Regardless, great move, clearly intended for this device

…didn't somebody like @markgurman say that the next version of Siri was going to have an anthropomorphic Finder-style character? 😅

oh no

The MacBook Neo is basically the Walmart M1 MacBook Air. But new.

Their specs are a bit different: Neo has a better webcam, display, CPU/NPU. M1 Air had a better GPU, battery, a Force Touch trackpad.

Both had 8GB memory.

Both had 256GB storage.

Both were $599.

The A18 Pro in the MacBook Neo is 19% faster than the M2 Ultra in the Mac Pro in single-core performance (Geekbench 6).

The MacBook Neo starts at $599.

The Mac Pro, which is still for sale, starts at $6,999.

You can buy a MacBook for $499 and an iPad for $3,200, but only one of those machines can run real apps 🤷‍♂️
I will remind everybody that Xcode requires 16GB of RAM for its coding assistant features or AI autocomplete 🤡
Does anyone know which bank offers competitive mortgage rates for the new MacBook Pro?
