Creator of https://humanmicrobiome.info. Founder of https://www.humanmicrobes.org. Looking for high-quality stool donors for FMT (fecal microbiota transplant).

I've spent the past year living in my car in DC, visiting the Congressional offices most days. I started making social media videos to show people what I'm doing and try to get help.

@searchliaison Nearly a year later "Human Microbiome Community Forum" https://forum.humanmicrobiome.info/ is on the 8th page when you search for "microbiome forum". And if you click the "forums" tab, Reddit is the top result, a ton of irrelevant results are next, and the actual forum doesn't show up at all. One thread shows on the 10th page. How is this not complete garbage? It shows up on Bing at #1.

Fecal Microbiota Transplants (FMT), a cure for chronic disease, needs unique support

There are links near the bottom with more info. Here are the key points: The gut microbiome influences every aspect of human health and development. https://humanmicrobiome.info/intro/ FMT (fecal microbiota transplant) is the most studied and promising intervention to correct “gut dysbiosis”, and thus treat, and potentially cure, numerous diseases. It transfers the beneficial microbes from a healthy person to a sick person. https://humanmicrobiome.info/fmt/ People healthy enough to be highly s...

@disroot What software do you use for your main website? It appears to be a static site generator, but doesn't say which one. BTW, here's a screenshot of a huge blank space at the top of most pages.

Oh, I see GRAV mentioned here https://git.disroot.org/Disroot/Website/src/branch/main/vagrant/README.md. I think you should make that more apparent.

Two new blogs. $1 million per stool, the FDA and FMT part 2.

1. Highly effective stool donors will now be paid 1 million dollars for their poop. And offering a half-a-million-dollar reward for anyone who recruits one. https://www.humanmicrobes.org/blog/is-a-million-dollars-enough-for-your-poop

2. The FDA and FMT regulation. Part 2. I met with the FDA. Here's what I shared with them, and their response. https://www.humanmicrobes.org/blog/the-fda-and-fmt-regulation-part-2

My response to the May 2024 Slate.com article titled
"The Poop Broker. Michael Harrop started a booming underground market for human feces. But something smells off about his product"

https://slate.com/life/2024/05/fecal-transplant-fmt-c-diff-microbiome-poop-black-market.html Kind of an odd article. Amusing, seemingly agenda-driven, occasionally deceptive, but not all bad. I'm curious what impact this article will have. Will it be better or worse than the "complete silence"...

@searchliaison Not sure if you're the right person to bring this up with, but the domain ranking system is so flawed. I can make a garbage sub on reddit and it shows up at the top of google, yet I make a high-quality Xenforo forum a year ago and a high-quality wiki years ago https://humanmicrobiome.info/, and both rank very low. The wiki is the 50th spot for the exact name despite it being the best info that exists anywhere. Your "forums" section shouldn't just be reddit & quora (both low quality).

Hundreds of millions of people are suffering from conditions that are likely curable with an existing, simple treatment, yet virtually none of them are willing to spend some time learning about it or lift a finger to help acquire it.

This includes people with all the time and money in the world.

How is it that a single disabled patient is the only one willing to do anything about it?

#Microbiome #FMT #FecalTransplant #health #gutmicrobiota

The last blog asked:
How badly do you want a cure for yourself or your loved ones? What are you willing to do for it?

Overwhelmingly, the response from 1.2 million people was "absolutely nothing".

This mirrors my experience in patient communities over the past two decades.

It's bizarre & nonsensical.
