Tools for Analyzing Cross-National Military Deployment and Basing Data

These functions generate data frames on troop deployments and military basing using U.S. Department of Defense data on overseas military deployments. This package provides functions for pulling country-year troop deployment and basing data. Subsequent versions will hopefully include cross-national data on deploying countries.

https://meflynn.github.io/troopdata/ Too many social media platforms to remember—I recently completed a major rebuild of the get _troopdata() function from the troopdata package! Lots more flexibility and more data for more location. #rstats #polisci #academia #datascience

Colour rings and arcs — guide_colour_ring

Similar to guide_colourbar(), this guide displays continuous colour or fill aesthetics. Instead of a bar, the gradient in shown in a ring or arc, which can be convenient for cyclical palettes such as some provided in the scico package.

@andrew it’s like that Seinfeld where George brags about the really mundane skill of spelling peoples names right but then also gets it wrong. That’s my skill.
@andrew dance mode?
Does anyone have a good phono preamp they really like? Mine died after four months. Not great.
Really great start to the semester here.
This report so perfectly captures the rot at the top of so many universities. https://wvufacts.wordpress.com/#Sec5

@adamhsparks this is a k1 se and I was a little wary of the plastic underbelly but it’s awesome. Really solid. I’ve got a C2 (I think?) in my office. I love that too, but the full size key angle is tricky on the wrists sometimes so the low profile seems like a great compromise since I love the tactile feedback and clicks switches. I kind of want to try one of the Nuphys too.
