I went to see a "Passive House" apartment building that is under construction here in DC and I took some notes. OK, a lot of notes. But these buildings do some neat things! And are probably how we should be building everything.

The wildfire smoke has cleared out of DC, but I keep coming back to this article about how we used to have "Code Red" air quality days every summer.
The reason they stopped - the local coal power plant closed!
Just over a year ago I put solar panels on my house. Which means now is the right time to see how they did ...particularly as compared to what I was promised!

tl;dr - solar panels work, my home is now a net producer of electricity.
DC has this odd “Solar Renewable Energy Credit” marketplace which basically forces non-renewable energy produces to pay folks to generate solar. It’s pretty great, but also complicated. My experience so far; https://miccolis.github.io/posts/2022-10-31-getting-credit-for-rooftop-solar.html
