The best reading of this Michael and Associates poll is at the end, when you explore what each of the panelists (Donald Dripps and Chris Kutz appealed to me the most) had to say. As an ESL teacher (well, before I moved into Ed Tech), I found the English only executive order from the current president of the USA a cover to discriminate against others. I agree wholeheartedly with TESOL’s take on it: TESOL International Association opposes the United States Presidential Executive Order (EO), issued 1 March 2025, Designating English as the Official Language of the United States.
Target Boycott
Just like there should be a boycott for any business that dumped its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policy and support, Target is in the cross-hairs. I remember fondly shopping at Target for many years, and had my first job there before I decided "fronting shelves" and stocking required a level of attention beyond me in my teenage years. I never gave DEI a thought at the time.
Creating Custom GPTs in Perplexity
Creating some of my favorite task-helpers via Custom GPTs in OpenAI's ChatGPT has been a lot of fun. I love tweaking custom instructions, updating files in the Knowledge Bank to get the result I want. But Perplexity Pro Spaces has lured me back.
