For some reason this rock in Utah made me think about some guy in Nebraska.
I have weeds coming up in my yard.
There's something that #ZFS #OpenZFS does at mount time (I'm told it's processing deferred frees) that sometimes takes an incredibly long time (hours), and I'm still struggling to understand: why must this be done at mount? (And why mount and not pool import?) Why can't it continue to be deferred like it was during operations?
Still waiting for `zfs mount -a` after an unplanned power outage, 90 minutes after restore.
attention anybody with substantial experience with Rust and networking: my team is hiring!!
one of few rust jobs I'm aware of that is not web 3.0 horseplop.
fully remote (US timezones), good culture, good trans-inclusive healthcare, good work/life balance, and a nice defensive cybersecurity mission i can get behind.
feel free to reach out for more details and the job posting.
Can anyone recommend a combination of hardware/software/host for webcams that I could point at some heavily trafficked backyard bird feeders? I’m about to enter a period of reduced mobility and would love to be able both to keep watching and share the joy.
(edit: ideally, something that can stream publicly as well as be viewed in-house)
