Since I joined I have ditched most subscription stuff like Spotify, Amazon and Netflix.
Made the swap to Linux.
Started painting.
Now I am considering whether or not I could be a Person Who Bikes Places.

Bad news ππ
I am sad to announce today that unfortunately I will not be working with Privacy Guides anymore after the end of this month.
Good news! π¨
I will be available for a new position or contract, starting in April!
I am looking for a position or contact for:
β Digital rights activist (with a specialty in privacy rights)
π Privacy expert or consultant
Fediverse and Mastodon advocate
π Managerial position
π° Tech journalist
π» Technical writer
π Or any other fitting positions
I am especially interested in working with nonprofit organisations, cooperatives, open-source projects, privacy-oriented software companies, or any other organisations working for the public good.
π¨π¦ Remote from Canada
All the work I produce is guaranteed to be AI-free
Let me know if you hear of any good opportunities!
The aisbestos is coming in real hard at my current employer and it's definitely starting to smell like layoffs are around the corner.
Anyone have a use for someone with a math degree, 7 years of QA experience, and 3 years running an IT department?

hot take: @protonprivacy didnβt fail you. YOUR OPSEC failed you.
encryption β anonymity. these are not the same thing and never have been.
Proton did exactly what they said theyβd do - encrypted your emails and complied with lawful Swiss legal orders. thatβs the whole deal. thatβs what you signed up for.
the credit card you used to pay for your βanonymousβ account was never part of the encryption. that was always traceable. that was always a liability.
and hereβs the kicker - Proton literally accepts Monero and cash. they gave you the tools. you chose the Visa.

Going to Tucson for work, whatβs good there?
(boost my good fediverse friends)
I happened across these folks recently. They celebrate everything #Tucson and showcase a lot of community events.
I recently learned that my local community food bank does collection of residential-grown produce in the late winter. If you've got overladen grapefruit trees in #Tucson there's a place that wants them!

Good News! π¨π
I am delighted to finally announce today what I've been working on in the past few weeks:
Privacy Guides' new Activism section!
https://privacyguides.org/activism/
The Activism section offers a new way to empower the digital rights community. It will progressively grow with more tools to support the community in its privacy activism effort, both for individuals and organizations π
As Privacy Guides' new Activism & Outreach Lead, I will be working hard on developing this section even further in the coming weeks, adding many more tools to support our community.
I hope this can be a helpful resource for anyone who is ready to fight for privacy rights βπ
