@autoperipatetikos I’m glad you got the extra time with the appointment, Mary. The pressure to rush is stressful.
Maybe related to finding your way back: I keep trying to resume an abandoned project — uploading old photos to Google Photos.
I started paying for extra storage a few years ago, but first wanted to check & rename the files in a consistent way.
At some point I just… stopped.
There’s still 10+ years left to do. Plus photos of cars and other things stored elsewhere.

I wrote this piece recently after thinking about the hospice that cared for my wife 13 years ago.

We Don’t Belong Here. This Place Is Too Fancy

Thirteen years after losing my wife, I still think about the uneasy luxury of end-of-life care — and who actually pays for it

@autoperipatetikos Thznks, Mary.
@autoperipatetikos Sleep has such a big impact. I feel tired and foggy today. Tried stripping some wallpaper that’s been there 23 years, but I’ve not got the energy. Hopefully it’ll be easier another day.
@autoperipatetikos That’s a lotta flour!
The slightly cooler weather is helping me to have a little bit more energy.
Hope you have a good weekend.
@autoperipatetikos The heat certainly seems to take away my energy. And a 32 °C bedroom isn’t ideal for sleeping. Let’s hope things improve as the temperature falls.
@autoperipatetikos I hope you’re starting to feel more relaxed after that car trip. I was too warm overnight. Seem to wake at 5am every day lately. 😆 Not sure if it’s the light, heat, or things on my mind.
@autoperipatetikos That’s true! I used to play with my mum’s sewing machine, growing up in the ‘70s. Maybe I trust older, simpler devices more.
@autoperipatetikos The safety risk could be enormous! Maybe it would need to be behind some strong barriers. 🤣
@autoperipatetikos it’s almost limitless! I used to joke to my wife that I didn’t have the patience to do that kind of intricate crafting. Instead, I’d want to design robot to do it for me. 🤣
