I'm taking advantage of this Black Friday to purchase a 300 USD pair of noise-cancelling headphones for 450 USD. And the best thing is that the non-discounted price here is 660 USD. For something that costs 300 USD in the US.
And then people wonder why I hate living here.
Updates on this: nothing's changed 🙃
This is a very old setup I have in my living room. Bottom left is a VHS player. On the top right there's a Blu-ray player and a DVD player. The bottom right is the frontal speaker of a 5.1 surround audio setup. And in the top left there's an AV receiver to control all the audio and video.
I'm thinking about making a video course about Rust. I'd like to sell it online, but it seems that all online teaching platforms are so... weird. I'm starting to consider implementing my own e-learning video course website myself instead and just integrating with Stripe. At the same time, that'd be a lot more effort than just putting it up on Coursera or Skillshare... hmmmm
I feel like doing a bit of streaming again today. This time I'll be playing Deep Rock Galactic, a fun game I've picked up recently. If you'd like to make me company, you can find me at

TwitchVRChat is being unhealthy to me. I keep going to bed at 4 or 5am so that I don't miss out on my friends, but it makes me feel like a zombie during the day while I'm working. At the same time, seeing my friends every night is what makes work bearable and worth it for me. I don't know what to do.
the fucking gamer combo comes with a cummy burger ffs
@stefenauris Not really. The product specifications are things like "make the close button close the main window and all sub windows". And there's a few different approaches to do that. The one I had to go with was to add a variable in a SessionStorage that acts like an event to close the windows. All of the other alternatives, like passing actual events between windows, weren't viable because the internal architecture of the application just doesn't lend itself to patterns like that.
Fellow developers, is it ethical to write bad code on purpose because the alternative of writing the proper code is just not viable due to decisions made by other people?
