I have reached that age where the government takes a stronger interest in my health. This year, I have sent a sample of poo back off to be tested for bowel cancer, stuck a giant cotton bud into my vagina to test for the virus that causes cervical cancer, had my eyes checked to make sure I’m still OK to drive, and had my breasts compressed by cheerful radiologists in the basement of David Jones to check for breast cancer. All without any upfront payment. Thank you #Medicare

Lovely date night last night at Elder Hall, at the University of Adelaide, with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra performing works composed by women (three of whom were in the audience).

Especially beautiful work with a Cor Anglais soloist. I could not have picked out a Cor Anglais from a woodwind lineup prior to last night, but now I can.

Pick up a print copy today; I'll share if/when it also goes online.

Hey this wasn’t just any account it was the account of a major superannuation (pension) fund in Australia. Suggest corporate folks read this carefully!

1 google employee fat finger was apparently able to delete not just an instance but the entire corporate customer account including backups without any confirmations or other controls! 🙀

It’s an egregious error of information security & design on Google’s part should never have been possible on a production system.

As time lurches forward, there's something to be said for keeping up with the cutting edge of technology. There's also something to be said for having a firm footing in the technologies of the past. The real movers and shakers will be well-versed in both.
