Thanks and farewell to Steven Deobald

Steven Deobald has been in the post of GNOME Foundation Executive Director for the past four months, during which time he has made major contributions to both the Foundation and the wider GNOME project. @mcc fwiw there's literal studies showing the exact same thing

So I'm trying to refactor a bit of gnome-calendar's code to make it testable, and it's going well, but I'm having to dive back (after, what, 25 years) into RFC 5545 for iCalendar and I'm nodding while reading, yes, yes, this makes sense, I remember this.

Is this internalized trauma?

Is there any Foss chat app with in-app live translation? Or any work in that direction?
@gregarious My heck. I'm glad I didn't try to come back to the GUI after quitting over a year ago. I mean I keep seeing people saying it improves, and then, I see your sort of post and I'm like, improved, eh? I like using linux, of course. But even the pure tty alone is a challenge these days, and no, not because of systemd like some folks seem to think, but the way the entire audio stack of linux was designed conflicts with our usage. But if I wasn't a power user? I wouldn't even bother with linux.
