The iOS 26 Liquid Glass buttons did their own thing, the new ones are more retro style and I guess we’ll see them tweak over the betas and see if Apple still know how to make lickable buttons that stand out from the content.
I think it’s just a matter of a uniform transparent black border and some shadows.
Not sure yet how I like the revised look of Liquid Glass in iOS 27.
I find the dark outline stroke too be too thin and faint at the top, it almost comes across as a scaling artifact.
And they’re not doing much with shadows and gradients any more, so the button just sits there, sometimes muddled by surrounding text with not much separation.
On iOS, I also preferred the barless look but now the nav bars are back when scrolled. They too don’t have much separation from the content, no shadows.
