The App Store rejection saga if finally over. After two more pointless rejection, I got #Flyleaf 2.6 through! Also, the app is now very professional and much official with it's own domain: https://flyleafapp.com

I'm very happy to announce that #Flyleaf update 2.6 is finally available in the #AppStore:

#Tables finally render properly, add #Bluesky threads, import articles from #Readwise Reader, export articles as #Markdown, navigate with a built-in table of contents, and a bunch of other improvements across iOS, iPadOS and macOS. Plus: Fixes for images, videos, reading position, and other pesky paper cuts.

Read all about it on the new Flyleaf website:

@BenCotterill @rejected As as a matter of fact, I think I deserve kind treatment by virtue of being a human being. But I get what you mean. Sometimes, all we have is venting on social media …
Well shit, now I'm officially in #AppReview Hell. I resubmitted everything to the #AppStore, iOS was approved quickly, but the macOS version got another rejection after 2 days, this time stating that my-in app puchase flow „may mislead or confuse users about the subscription terms or pricing“. Of course, that flow is unchanged for over two years and never been a problem before. @rejected
@marioguzman @jonmsterling This fills me with such deep nostalgia!
The #AppStore saga continues: After 8 days, the macOS version was rejected by #AppReview on a metadata technicality, forcing me to also resubmit the already approved iOS version. Lets hope I won’t regret any of this …

"We had a few contacts with Apple on this matter, this I can confirm. But Apple was simply unable to develop interoperability solutions that meet essential EU privacy and security standards.

Instead of trying to find a suitable compliance solution, Apple simply made a request to the European Commission to be exempted from their interoperability obligations under the DMA.

And this for at least 18 months on top of it. Guess what? That's not an option."

They just dropped a press release explaining why they chose not to release the new Siri AI in the EU: https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2026/06/due-to-dma-siri-ai-delayed-in-eu-for-ios-27-and-ipados-27/

Long story short, their argument is "the EU Commission wants us to give any AI system unlimited access to a user's device", "we proposed a technical solution that we would roll out over an 18-month period", and "They said no"

Due to DMA, Siri AI delayed in EU for iOS 27 and iPadOS 27

Due to the Digital Markets Act, Apple will not be able to ship Siri AI in the European Union with the release of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27.
