Um, cool science journalism fellowship alert. Some years ago, I got to spend 3 weeks at the Toolik field station in the Arctic circle and it was a truly amazing experience. Antarctica, though! Go get that, science writer friends. https://casw.org/news/casw-announces-antarctic-expedition-reporting-opportunity/?fbclid=IwAR1-tYdRgMZG84MxXO9pwsQfyr27mlREwhY4ZWaKE9jXsW7nEKjIKU7YOh0

@matthartings I have our library looking at their contract with ACS Pubs. If we contracted for classic C&EN and that is not the product they are delivering, do we still have to pay for the subscription? #chemistry #chemiverse
Seeing a lot more activity here today ... I'm going to put the credit/blame on @chemjobber

There has been such a wonderful outpouring of support for C&EN. I am truly grateful. If you reached out to me, please be patient as I am slowly working through them.

In the meantime, If you are upset about the changes in editorial oversight to C&EN mag, I have compiled a list of action items that can be taken to bring our voices to the ACS executives. Please consider taking one, if not all, of these steps.

This open letter by Matt Hartings explains how ACS is trying to destroy C&EN. A must read for the #chemiverse, and anyone in science journalism for that matter. https://t.co/S4TuqDwZ2A #chemtoops #scicomm #editorial

I interacted with Bibiana Campos and consider her an amazing person. I am worried about these developments at ACS. Via @matthartings

Finally, chatter on social networks is great. But, if you care about this, please contact your local chapter’s councilors, your regional representatives on the Board of Directors, and anyone you may know who has a leadership role within ACS.
C&EN covers news from the chemical enterprise in a very unique way. No other news outlet blends their expertise and reporting similarly. The whole of our profession is weakened because of these moves. Please consider sharing this open letter and contacting those you may know in ACS leadership.
