Global oil consumption dropped at he 1973 and 1979 oil shocks as ppl reduced dependence. Had the trajectory of use in millions of barrels/day not been affected it would have gone frpm30 in 1965 to 110 in 1982. Instead it only got to 55. Today's oil shock means an severe reduction in oil dependence, and enormous increase in renewables. Saudi Arabia was one of the early adopters seeing the end coming. China and Spain have enormous solar footprints. #renewables #solar
