@katfeete That sounds like an accurate synopsis. I feel that “way more deep than expected for a Saturday morning” so often these days. It’s very bad choices being made at such a high rate that I cannot keep up.

My #Wikipedia request for comment just closed, finally banning #AI content in articles! "The use of LLMs to generate or rewrite article content is prohibited"

Kudos to all who participated in writing the guideline (especially Kowal2701) and the whole WikiProject AI Cleanup team, this was very much a group effort!

Fun view up an electricity pilon yesterday with the clouds in the background. Feels a bit like a quilt pattern.

@janbeta I’ve been thinking about you. That beast must take up every inch of your workspace when disassembled. And then the pressure of something so rare. It is absolutely in the right hands though. Someone with a real connnection to Amiga in their personal history, and also a wish to make it more than just something sitting on a shelf.

Thanks for bringing us along for all the bumps. It’s impressive how far you’ve already gotten with it.

@garthbeagle This is so cool! Love the way it turned out.

@thisdoesnotcomp

i didn’t have a large enough printer to make it all in one go, so instead embraced the sections and printed them in different colours

thus creating the JLPGA Cat Mac 😁

@sotolf I’ve also gotten that feedback from friends; that at first they thought I was “aloof” or similar. When in reality I was feeling pretty much the opposite of aloof. On the positive side, all this time spent analyzing and thinking about what’s happening might have made me better at teaching. I break things down into simple components very well, as I never assume anyone is “reading between the lines”.
@sotolf I think it’s clear and well written. I especially like the “internet famous” part; as it really gets to the difference between the fediverse and other social media sites/platforms.
@sotolf I have a theory that people see a bunch of interesting toots and click request follow. Then go about their days and forget. Then a few weeks later, again, they see cool toots and think...wait, did I forget to follow this person? And they click request follow again. And the cycle continues. The problem is you have too many cool and interesting toots :-)
