Newly cancer-free dog, 15 days after large mast cell tumor excision. #dogsofmastodon

I realize I should explain the dog cone. My beautiful 6-year-old Bree had a large mast cell tumor (histamine releasing, so constant inflammation and risk of anaphylaxis) excised on the 20th. She has a 6-inch incision on her left hip and leg. I learned yesterday that our wonderful vet’s excision had removed it all with clean margins and it was low-grade, so not metastatic. Bree will be on watch for recurrences for life but is healthier than she’s been in months. #dogsofmastodon
