Maybe we should come up with a different term to describe what we mean by "Social Capital". Social Capital suggests that we're amassing social tokens that we can then exchange for something else of value — like cash or reputation (which can also be monetized). So much of social media has been about moving the social and the public into the Maul of America, where they exist only to the extent that they follow the rules of The Market.

That's a wonderful image. You feel the full weight of history at Trinity Library. And it speaks to you. Like a gravestone with an inscription that reads like a DM.

I found these photos that I took while in Dublin in Nov. 2013.

I really loved Dublin and will return one day. My strongest memory is of the Library of Trinity College. It has a lot to tell us, especially in these (digital) days. I'd like to see other parts of Ireland, too.

My mother, she was Orange and me father, he was green.

Grammarly wants me to clean up that last sentence.

I was in Dublin in 2013 for a Design conference.

Cumulus Dublin 2013: More for Less – Design in an Age of Austerity, College of Art and Design, Dublin, Ireland, 7-9 November 2013.

I stayed an extra couple of days and visited all the museums, galleries, and historic places I could. I kept thinking about how our sons would love it there (esp. Dublinia, the Viking Museum — they were younger then).

I think we'd have to do a house swap and wave at each other as our planes passed over one ocean or another.

Also, "Sorry to Bother You" is a really good film.

Proof that I once visited Dublin.

Also, I don't really mind salads.

If we can find enough of us here we could create our own instance. I find that talking to myself leads to fewer arguments (and I always win them, anyway).

@jefftiedrich

It's called a Potlatch Ceremony.
