I'm now thinking of moving to a different instance, maybe fosstodon (if it will let me in there)
Has anyone done this before? How does this work?

I've discovered Mastodon API now, and it looks like there is a wrapper in #Python. Will give that a try. (I can already see myself wanting an asyncio one π₯΄)

I still don't know how to follow people on mastodon π¬
e.g. someone shared profile on twitter. I clicked on it but it asked me to login. I'm already logged in though. How do I use this thing? π° Am I doing something wrong?
If people follow me then at least I can click the "follow back" button.
My life has literally changed because of the Python community, and that change also comes due to contributions to @[email protected] in these fundraisings!
Does your company use Python? Tell them do donate; if you can, do so as well, the PSF programs do a lot of outreach and itβs amazing! https://twitter.com/thepsf/status/1589672784044904448

Feels like such a hurdle coming to this platform. Steep learning curve and long onboarding process, compared to others.
Choosing an instance itself is too much overhead, causing decision fatigue, it becomes a barrier in participating in the space. Even now I'm feeling like maybe I'm "misplaced" π
But ... I will learn. Perhaps I need to actually use this platform exclusively in order to be immersed and exposed to all the features, and then maybe I'll learn to appreciate it.
@mariatta I'm also a newcomer to this platform but apparently auto-crossposting retweets here is a no-no.

Speaking from experience:
just because something is "not ready for production"
DOES NOT MEAN it doesn't get shoved into production anyway π€ͺ https://twitter.com/mariatta/status/1405225985159487492
