@accudio yeah, it wasn't the best analogy. But you got what I meant about the license probably not covering them inadvertently allowing thi4d parties to effectively publish it.
Legally, I think if you'd paid for the twitter archive service then maybe you could be a sort of "equity's darling" as you'd purchased something in good faith, without notice of this impact.
In reality, being held to pay from the moment it happens feels unduly harsh. It's good of you to share you lesson... Thank you.
@accudio I read your whole post and I think the situation really sucks.
Having said that, if I take code that is protected by copyright and put it in my open source project and make it available to everyone, isn't that the same sort of situation?
Feels like maybe the news source just shouldn't have put it on their open graph if their license of the image didn't permit it.

@ScottWlaschin's "13 ways to look at a turtle" is a jam-packed session that truly emphasises how there are at least a dozen ways to solve any problem...

It was a speed intro to the concept of queues, event sources, stream processing, monads, functional concepts, F# generally, and more.

Highly recommended! @ #NDCLondon

@Two9A why the move? I ended up making like 3 of these when I joined...

If 2 adults have one income and one is on the basic tax rate, they should get 2x the personal tax allowance. Instead, they get a Β£200 rebate.
@neil you're right. This is an attempt to appease transphobes.

@Edent @celesteh @onepict I'm not currently a student but when I was, I could relate to these.

Undiagnosed ADHD.
Large cohorts. Lectures aren't for questions. Tutorials are rushed; just watching a PhD student answer set questions. It's all formulaic & about memorising how to answer the question, not how to apply learning.
Terrible slides & lecturers aren't taught to teach properly.
Can't pause, rewind, clarify, fast forward...

@catbuttes @SimonB how about tiny curtains that you only draw at night?
