@brianstorms actually this article has more info than I've seen elsewhere. It's from the SFNM but it's not behind a paywall because it got reposted on Yahoo: https://news.yahoo.com/center-contemporary-arts-shuts-over-033300793.html

@brianstorms Yes, this truly sucks. I know we crossed paths over on Facebook (or was it IG?) about this too. As someone who has worked in nonprofit orgs for many years, this kind of mismanagement and lack of transparency/communication with the community drives me nuts. IMHO nonprofits have a responsibility to their communities, and I don't see CCA upholding that. I have no idea what happened there, but something seems very fishy to me.
@bodhipaksa I know, right?! That was the last straw... I don't have a Substack but I follow some folks who do, and it's absolutely ridiculous that now they can't share their writing on the bird site.
Thank you for the warm welcome back!

Hello Mastodonians (which kind of sounds like Mandalorians),
I'm back after being away for a while... got sucked into giving Twitter another chance... that ain't going so well.

It's finally spring in Northern #NewMexico and the acequias (water ditches) are flowing once again. Gorgeous time of year here... apricot blossoms and green coming up. This is the scene just down the road from me.

Hope all are well!

If the rules of your system prioritize thriving billionaires over thriving planets then you will get temporarily thriving billionaires.
Don't underestimate the value of having common spaces in a community that one can freely drop into, whether it's a library, a coffee shop, or something else. These spaces are an integral part of our social fabric and without them people can go a bit nuts. Speaking from direct experience.
