The EPA recently gave a Chevron refinery the green light to create fuel from discarded plastics as part of a “climate-friendly” initiative to boost alternatives to petroleum.

But, according to agency records obtained by ProPublica and The Guardian, the production of one of the fuels could emit air pollution that is so toxic, 1 out of 4 people exposed to it over a lifetime could get cancer.

I love growing tomatoes in my garden - here’s yesterday’s harvest. But I have mixed feelings about it, because when I started gardening in Ōtepoti (Dunedin), Aotearoa New Zealand, back in the 1990s, I wouldn’t have dreamed of growing tomatoes outdoors. The temperature has warmed and the number of late or early frosts has reduced. I started growing tomatoes outdoors about 5 years ago and have had some good crops. #ClimateDiary #ClimateChange 1/2
