US-based Canadian artist Carol Milne creates glass sculptures that mimic the patterns of knitting and yarn.
Her method involves aspects of knitting, lost-wax casting, mold-making, and kiln-casting to achieve the intricate, seemingly pliable forms of knitted glass.
@hyc @dichotomiker @infobeautiful I figured it had to do with the direction of the writing. Many modern languages in that area are written right-to-left. Found one source (https://www.omniglot.com/writing/latin.htm) that had this to say:
Latin was original written either from right to left, left to right, or alternating between those two directions (boustrophedon). By the 5th or 4th century BC it was normally written from left to right.
