This is Fénix, a pitbull mix we fostered for a while. Someone had poured acid on his back, and he still had scars where the fur was permanently burned off.

He would have had every right to be angry with the world, but he was the sweetest dog we ever fostered. All he wanted was hugs all the time.

And in spite of his scars, I thought he had a ruggedly handsome look.

Another great fostering memory.

We are all familiar with PBKAC (Person Between Keyboard And Chair) errors, but in honor of #caturday, I want to point out a much more problematic error, the CBPAM (Cat Between Person And Monitor) error.

Two of my cats think that the plexiglass protector that I put over my keyboard to keep them from typing on it is a cat posing stand, and whenever I sit down to do some work, they stand in front of the monitor and stick their butt in my face. I am a pretty good touch typist, but it is really difficult to do accurate typing when you can’t see the screen. *or* the keyboard.

This Riley, one of the SAR dogs from 9/11. (He passed away on 2010-02-26 at the ripe old age of 13.) I love how they have him secured with redundant connections. #Mondog
Happy Caturday!
Here is the latest thing in high-tech cat beds. #caturday
I was just reading an article on LinkedIn (which I couldn’t figure out how to link to) about drone shows starting to replace fireworks. If this trend continues, Bella the Cybersecurity Dog definitely approves. No more skybooms! #DogsOfMastodon
Another member of our pack, a GSD/Dobie mix (which I think is a particularly beautiful mix). She was abused and in poor health when we first adopted her. After a few years with us, she is healthy, happy, confident, and playful.

This is the ruggedly handsome Fenix, a pit bull mix we fostered. He had been badly abused before we got him, and would have had every right to have a chip on his shoulder. But he was the lovingest dog I ever saw. All he wanted was hugs. #mondog
Hiding in plain sight. #caturday
Why we called him the engineer dog. We put stakes around his kennel so he wouldn’t push it off its foundation and escaped. So he rocked the kennel until he got it propped up by one of the stakes. #mondog
