have just recently finally got an external monitor (!) but now i can't get it working with X11 or wayland.

• Integrated AMD gpu & dedicated nvidia GPU
• I think (I don't know enough about how to debug this to know) that only the nvidia GPU is wired to access the external displays, not the builtin AMD GPU
• nouveau says something about an unkown chipset
• proprietary drivers load but are wonky
• sway works (kinda) but the external monitor has constant black flickering
• I can't get Xorg to run at all ! no matter how I configure it, the builtin screen and/or monitor just freeze when it starts

Another installation of fedora w/ gnome on an external hard drive works fine though ! :(
