Esistenza Zero (Zero Existence) is an Italian indipendent (very independent...) cyberpunk, cyborg, sci-fi film by Matteo Scarfò.

I made the original soundtrack, using #Linux, #linuxaudio and #FreeSoftware.

The film is now available on Prime (Italian with English subs) - not bad for a 'no budget' film 🤣

Machine Landscape (re-release).
Machine Landscape is an #acousmatic #electronic piece which presents a sonic experience inspired by 'the machine', predominant and unavoidable element of our contemporary life.

This is a re-release on #bandcamp with minor revisions and re-mastering.

The piece was entirely composed with #Linux and #floss
For what concerns software #Ardour and #puredata had a predominant role.

I have been back to experimenting with more 'experimental' electroacoustic pieces.

This one is entirely based on a ca. 6 second voice sample processed in various ways and building a somewhat 'sound-scaped' piece.

For this track I challenged myself to use exclusively #Audacity - It did indeed prove to be quite a challenge, but technical constraints can inspire some creativity (and some swearing..). A couple of non-Audacity (but #FLOSS) effects were used and #SoX for some final processing.

#Audacity had become unusable for me due to it always trying to load plugins at startup. Luckily with the latest update I got - v 3.6.7 - it seems the (quite hidden) 'Skip effects scanning at startup' option now actually does what it says, and works.

I use(d) audacity for quick audio editing. its noise reduction plugin and sometimes also 'quick and dirty' multi-tracks.

Nice to be able to use it again as it's almost the only FLOSS (maintained) audio editor around :-)
