I have been posting on Threads and allowed fediverse syndication of my posts there. FYI.
I haven't been using Mastodon. There's an impersonator stealing each of my posts here. It's really stupid.
Haven't posted here in a stone's age. Sorry! Too much social media to maintain.
It seems like a lot of tech companies are now disincentivizing loyalty and hard work now. You can't cut your way to growth all the time.
So because a lot of the people who use Mastodon are doing so to get away from Twitter 2.0 under Elon Musk's management, are people here still interested in discussions about Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter and his other pursuits? Feel like it's just not... the place for shop talk.
I don't know, folks. I am pretty burnt out on social media.
Elon Musk accused the media and high schools and colleges of being "racist against whites and Asians" in the US on Sunday, and defended Dilbert creator Scott Adams after the cartoonist had posted a video containing a racist tirade. I interviewed people who research: racial discrimination, media bias, education, civil rights and crime trends about what they thought of his remarks. They brought the data. The story is over at CNBC --

Elon Musk calls U.S. media and schools 'racist against whites & Asians'
Musk posted his comments on Twitter in response to media organizations cutting the comic strip "Dilbert" after its creator, Scott Adams, made racist remarks.
CNBCWhenever I see CEOs attack reporters, call our stories false, and so on... it's usually a badge of honor for the writer. Our work is accurate, paranoid-level careful. And the CEOs won't be able to hide truth forever.
On Friday, I reported for CNBC.com that Twitter is now down to about 1,300 full-time, and actively working employees. (There were still about 1,400 non-working but paid employees at that time who had either been laid off with pay in lieu of notice, or resigned by default by not signing the "hardcore" pledge.) Musk has disputed my report which was based on internal records and sources with direct knowledge. He says Twitter has 2,300 "active" employees. Story was here:

Twitter is down to fewer than 550 full-time engineers
Before Musk led a $44 billion leveraged buyout of Twitter last year, Twitter's headcount stood at about 7,500 employees.
