@eunews Seems an object lesson in how to disentangle other economies from the US economy. Not sure it's the end goal Mr. President wanted, but that disentanglement is likely to be the most prominent and lasting outcome.
@0xabad1dea All research involving human subjects, whether psycological or medical has human testing standards. Handy for stupidity like that.
@0x0ddc0ffee I don't suppose drifting to absurditum is something that is common outside the legal profession. This is obviously a very straw man, but answering those kinds of dumb questions keeps people sharp. Sorry to have disturbed!
@kimlockhartga @CynAq The bigger problem is how hegemonic AI is and how, if too deeply embedded in our culture will create a culture of homogeneity that advertisers dreamed of in the late 70s.
We've had a bunch of corrupt and/or bullying politicians in the town where I live, and a group of us are raising funds to place an ad to call for new candidates we'll support through the running process. Meta: $42.85/year per user

You trade:

- Complete privacy
- Mental health
- Autonomy

For ~$40/year to advertisers.

Your time is worth more.

Oh cool, a new way to “be social” where my friends can upload my number even if I don’t opt in. According to OpenAI, if someone syncs contacts, they may process your phone number—and store numbers on servers in a coded/hashed format (not names/emails). So… who’s ready to follow people on #ChatGPT? 😼

Your Friends Could Be Sharing Your Phone Number with ChatGPT - Slashdot

"ChatGPT is getting more social," reports PC Magazine, "with a new feature that allows you to sync your contacts to see if any of your friends are using the chatbot or any other OpenAI product..." It's "completely optional," [OpenAI] says. However, even if you don't opt in, anyone with your number...

@rasmus91 @killyourfm So what you're saying is copyright revocation needs to be a thing for abandonware?

You can't count on the copyright holder to make a patch to disable DRM... but you probably could count on someone in the community doing that.
