One of the biggest security expertise redpills is this is unironically a good idea and the time spent making fun of it was ill-advised for most users whose physical security threat is not a factor in comparison.
I do like my office and love the windows and I can see the sky.
@jajo hur följer jag tillbaka, eller gör jag det redan fast det inte ser ut som det?

We call the Internet ubiquitous and global. Access is so often assumed. The internet as a democratising force is obvious, but everything that can be a force for positive change can also exclude. As always, those without a voice are not heard.

As I’m reflecting on my work within the digital space, and the impact I hope to have, I’m realising more and more I would love to make connections in Liberia and help out in some way with any digital struggles.

That’s as far as I’ve come in these thoughts. Hopefully to be continued.

If you live in Liberia or have connections to the country I would love to connect. I’ve also lived in Tanzania and I am truly interested in the whole continent. Give me a shout.

I regularly read The Continent and highly recommend it for an African perspective and outlook. You can subscribe to it using Signal.

@IPEdmonton actually no. I think it did a reasonable job of providing some clear, step-by-step instructions for people who might feel intimidated by the process. It’s beginner content aimed for people who are a little less tech-savvy and need a little hand-holding.

That’s why I think it’s a big deal. It’s a good attempt to make the whole process approachable for folks who might not otherwise make the switch. And it’s front page on the WaPo app.

No warning. I report on Elon Musk and other topics for The Washington Post and will keep doing so because free speech and transparency are important for the world.

In the last few days I ... wrote about Elon Musk. I posted links to publicly available, legally acquired data as well as links to Mastodon, which also now is banned on Twitter.

Elon Musk is free to ban whoever he wants from Twitter, just like people are free to take their speech somewhere else.

NYT's statement:

"Tonight’s suspension of the Twitter accounts of a number of prominent journalists, including The New York Times’s Ryan Mac, is questionable and unfortunate. Neither The Times nor Ryan have received any explanation about why this occurred. We hope that all of the journalists’ accounts are reinstated and that Twitter provides a satisfying explanation for this action."

Tomorrow will be another very expensive day for electricity in Europe. This time, Great Britain stands out with a baseload price of €784 per MWh!
UW Seattle students are doing a multi day sit-in to protest the fossil fuel industry being promoted by the UW career center. Please sign their petition at https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/fossil-free-u #FridaysForFuture #ClimateStrike #FossilFreeUniversity
Fossil Free U

The University of Washington is complicit with the terrible harms caused by the fossil fuel industry. This relationship must end! UW Students are now leading the charge with the Fossil Free U (FFU) campaign to demand the elimination of all traces of Fossil Fuels within the university.  Currently UW is failing to comply with the bare minimum level of action needed to address the rampant climate crisis and deadly pollution of the Fossil Fuel industry. Instead, UW must be a model for a sustainable future. This starts by ending the flow of money to and from fossil fuel industry projects, and refusing to cooperate with their agenda of deceit. Next UW must rapidly transition off the infrastructure which poisons our lungs and air, and set us on the path to total independence from the fossil fuel industry in the next decades. Through the FFU campaign, the UW community is standing up together against the companies sabotaging our future and hijacking our present. UW: the time is now to be a Fossil Free University!
