I thought I had become so deadened to the insanity of the existential risk / effective altruism troops that I would just stop reading about it & advised others simply not to give it the oxygen of publicity and thereby hope it would sputter out. Nice summary of the OpenAI hearing but McNaughtons two options of what's going on - advance regulatory capture by tech or admission of dangerous product out of control - surely ignore the obvious 3rd interpn of lord, give me regulation but not yet? When will LLMs be "advanced" enough to need this alleged intervention? When they hit mythical AGI?
