I just nipped outside for five minutes to let the wind pleasure my skin, and to admire the trees in their new autumn frocks, and it occurred to me how determined nature is to make the world beautiful, despite all the grimdark horrors we humans throw at it. We should take the time more often to notice perky spuggies, small ferns, bumbersome snails, spiders web-dancing, the tapestry of clouds above our heads woven by the air. It's all such a wonderful lift to the spirit.
