The only few seconds I really enjoyed in Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s film ‘Project Hail Mary’ were during the reference to the iconic five-tone sequence from Steven Spielberg’s ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ (1977). I was the only one in the cinema who laughed at that bit. #ProjectHailMary

Acteur François #Beukelaers overleden. Hij werd 88 jaar oud. Beukelaers acteerde voor #theater, #televisie en #film, doceerde aan Studio Herman #Teirlinck in Antwerpen en aan de Franstalige Brusselse toneelschool #INSAS. Hij was perfect tweetalig en regisseerde ook. Als acteur en theatermaker heeft hij een indrukwekkend repertoire opgebouwd.

In 2023 kreeg hij een Lifetime Achievement Award op het filmfestival van Oostende. Beukelaers - de man met de fluwelen, diepe stem - is net 88 jaar geworden. "Het leven duurt maar een dag", zei hij ooit, "zoals Shakespeare schreef: to die, to sleep, no more."
