Despite lots of trends from 2020 coming back, it looks like spending a bunch of money for JPEGs on the blockchain isn’t one of them.

The NFT fad was definitely an “emperor is wearing no clothes” moment in tech.

Crypto Exchange Kraken Shuts Down NFT Marketplace After Almost Two Years

The crypto exchange Kraken is shutting down its NFT marketplace almost two years after the platform was launched, saying it’s shifting more resources into new products and services.

This is your perennial reminder that if you're at a presentation, and a speaker asks for questions, please ask a question. A question ends in an inflection and a question mark.

If you want to chat with the speaker, wait til their off stage. They'd love to chat with you! But please respect the time of the audience and ask thoughtful short questions while the speaker is on stage, and have conversations later.

The fact that Satisfactory isn't nominated in any category for Game of the Year #TheGameAwards is a massive miss. It's a 10/10 game. Perfect example of how the early access can be used to release an incredibly polished 1.0 release

Hate to say it, because BlueSky had (still has) promise:

There is no reason to believe that its owners/investors -- now prominently including cryptocurrency bros -- will resist the opportunity to meddle and/or cash in, especially now that there's been such a surge in the user base.

And when/if they do, a genuinely open and decentralized alternative to Big Network (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) will still be -- with the current exception of the fediverse -- a mirage.

This is a small hill to die on, but it irritates me when people in tv/movies say "over and out" when using a radio.
On a half-duplex communication medium like radio, "Over" means "i'm finished transmitting, it's now your turn to talk".
"Out" means "this conversation is now finished".
"Over and out" is contradictory
@liamo not gunna fucking work was my first pass parse
I can't be the only one who first parses NGFW as "not good for work"

And the career village just keeps getting better and better. Next up we have @liamo presenting "Everything you need to know about Cyber in 30 minutes".

Get along and hear Liam discuss Cyber Industry and pathways. You could study for years and only know a small part of it. He will talks about everything from Pentesting to GRC and through to AppSec, and he isgoing to (attempt to) cover it all. Whether you're new to cyber or an old-hand in your discipline, there will likely be something new for you in this talk.
