Hi all, I wanted to reply with some clarifications, since there appears to be some confusion about some of the topics. On the idea of a kill switch: while I said that we won’t add a “global kill switch”, all of these capabilities will be delivered as Snaps to the OS, layered on top of the existing Ubuntu stack. @jstsmthrgk This sounds similar to what happened to me. Lightning strike in through Coax which wasn't fed through a surge protector. Took a modem and a network interface 😭
It was at that point I understood why they added Coax to the surge protectors...
I wish there were a counter somewhere that told me how many times I've been saved by a surge protector because I'm not sure either.
