Today's album
Running #Ubuntu on a #RaspberryPi 4 in the stock case for a year or so with idle temps around 60C. That always seemed hot to me, but nowhere near the ~80C threshold.
Decided to do something about it and bought a Flirc brand case where the case itself is an aluminum heatsink.
It took about a minute of fiddling with the thermal pad and lining up the Pi onto its plastic seat, but wasn't difficult at all.
Temps dropped a whole 10C! That was way more than I was expecting. So worth it.
Goodbye #Linux.
We had some good times, but #Microsoft 's KB5041487 says you aren't secure anymore. ðŸ˜
Watching #Fedora use a #FrameworkLaptop in all of the desktop and laptop marketing makes me feel real good about my Framework purchase a couple years ago.
One of these days, I’ll get another.
