Lecturer in Statistics– AC3554GB, School of Mathematics and Statistics Salary £43,414-£53,353 per annum* Start date: 1 May 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter , <p style="text-align: justify;">The University of St Andrews is seeking to enhance its strengths in statistics by appointing a new Lecturer. We are looking for a scholar with outstanding potential and hence we are advertising flexibly across two roles, Lecturer in Statistics (Education Focused) or Lecturer in Statistics (Education and Research).</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> *Applications from candidates who wish to apply for Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) at Grade 6 (salary £35,333-£42,155) may also be considered, and if appointed the job description would be adapted accordingly. </p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Successful candidates for the Education and Research role will have a strong and growing international research reputation and commitment to delivering high quality teaching. We welcome applications from across the broad spectrum of statistics, and particularly from candidates whose research could link with existing research strengths in St Andrews, including ecological and environmental statistics, medical statistics, and statistical ‘omics’. We are especially keen to appoint candidates with strength in statistical machine learning methods and/or with strength in statistical methodology. </p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Successful candidates for the Education Focused role will be inspirational teachers in statistics committed to delivering and enhancing our highly-rated programme of teaching at undergraduate and taught postgraduate level and will have experience in curriculum development. </p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align: justify;">We welcome applications from candidates who hold a PhD in statistics or a closely related discipline.
