Had a young man ask for my permission to marry her tonight.
I had to tell him my daughter is a grown woman who was raised to love who she chooses and I can’t give permission for something that’s not mine.
I did tell him I would be honored to have him as part of my family.
He was doing what he thinks was right as he was raised, I respect that but my girls are independent and strong willed, not a damn word I am going to say is going to change that.
I am proud of her.
Maybe I should elaborate. I have never been to my child’s home, they always come to me.
She is so sweet though, she brought a basket to the hotel for me with snacks and drinks since I choose to stay in a hotel so her space can be her space.
That and my ex-wife lives with her and we don’t get along so 🤷♂️
OK made all the way back to where I grew up. DC, NOVA actually.
But I can confirm the capital rotunda is still standing and general appearance suggests we still have a government but for how long? Getting a last peek just in case.
Some people enjoy going home, I enjoy leaving it and have since I was a kid. Funny thing is none of family lives here but my kid.
If I traveled like I used to I would have kept Clear but the couple personal trips a year doesn’t warrant it.
That said, I am a global entry, trusted traveler, etc… which I pay for.
I am not cool with clear taking 6 of 8 precheck lanes and jumping every precheck traveler. It’s dumb.
Starting my journey east. I need this time away to reconnect with kid, and myself. Also to spend a week traveling the country with someone I love and like being around.
I am anxious though. Pets and life stuff but it’s what is needed now.
If I make tabletop exercise scenarios should I just make a public repo for all to enjoy, or is there somewhere that can get more reach? I just wanna make something cool
