Every time I look at my Telegram chats, this one still pops up to haunt me. Back when I got it just instant block + spam report. Nice thought and all tho to be making as much at hourly rates.

Got around to powering up this prototype just today. Holiday hobby hack / proof of concept of sorts :)
It’s a Roland SCC-1 ISA card handed to me (way back when), a ”may or may not work” deal, then a sleeper in the projects bin.
Whipped up this barebones setup, minimal PSU side bits (+5 & 12VDC rails), resistor to ground ISA reset pin and a button switch to pull it up momentarily, to then init / enable the card.
First thing really, to find out if it works. And it does (yay!)
Xmas spare time thing this year: Been editing & setting up a whole bunch of classic acid house, rave & breakbeat sampled stab synth sounds on the Ensoniq Mirage.
Just boatload of fun noodling around with some of this stuff. Doesn’t even sound at all that bad even if samples are 8-bit 😍

Don’t ask why: Mind boggles as I look at this Pixmob X2 puck, a ”collectible” from a big time artist gig. Trying to figure out the level of brand greenwashing.
Website says the puck is designed for easy disassembly, yet this one is irreversibly sealed shut by melting plastic clips at both ends.
How exactly does this comply with what they advertise, how is this ”an environmental win” or a ”fan souvenir” with zero collectible markings etc.
Single use e-waste? Can you hack one to run Doom?
