I saw a post from an American that made me realise, how most have accepted the reality of #surveillance as a non-negotiable. The stench of #propaganda eminating from the phrase #freedomofspeech, especially from US Americans, folks within territory declared as the USA, or the usual #bootlickers, is nauseating. But there was a time where the phrase had a double life. It existed as a #political #marketing #slogan, as well as a #politicalphilosphy summary. Today, though, it's #speech or #survival.

Some of the dumbest people on this planet, are folks that believe, historically, the US has been a force for good, and that they defeated #fascism in #Europe. Just say you don't care for reading books and thinking for yourself, saving anyone the trouble of finding out, if your content is worth parsing.

The other big issue with that word, is labelling #people as #trash. It's so much easier to throw trash into the #incinerator than a #humanbeing. The dehumanising effect can be subtle, too. Folks lose self-respect by wearing the label with pride. It's similar to caling oneself dumb. Do it long enough, and it will become reality. Hang all billionairs, sure. They bend laws, exploit people as much as they can, and brake laws left, right, and centre. Happy to negotiate lenienc, though. /2

I just looked at a profile on #UpScroll and it was unsettling. They had a list of #identitymarkers resembling a roller-coaster ride. Being a #lefty and a #patriot doesn't compute. But what I found worse, was the use of the term #whitetrash. Eventhough they used it in a self-deprecating sense, the term itself is very problematic. Besides the #classicism, it divides yts into trash and not-trash, while hiding the fact that the non-trash are the ones creating trash (literally and figuratively). /1
