Edit 2: I finally found a diagram with the station's short names, so I will use these ones. Thank you for your suggestions. 😊

🚋 Essen’s tram network was reorganised on 14 June 2026.

I created an unofficial geographic map of the new network, based on OSM data — including the tram routes extending into neighbouring municipalities.

Feedback welcome! 🗺️

Edit: linguistic update of the Irish station names. I still struggle with station names that are named after people. In every source, they are written as "Stáisiún <Name>, <City>". However, I don't want to write 'Stáisiún' that many times on my diagram. So, if an Irish speaker knows a correct solution to that problem, I am open to it. 😊
Visiting #Ireland for my first time last summer was of course the inspiration for my newest diagram 🥰

New 🚂 #rail diagram on larstransportmaps: #Ireland ☘️
I created this transport diagram, which captures the Irish rail network in the form of a custom-sized, 36°-angled structure. This allows for an axis-symmetrical representation of the main line along the east coast near Dublin, as well as the west-bound lines. The great variety in density throughout the island and the bilingual station names meant that mapping the Irish rail network was no trivial task.

Obligatory travel-home post: This journey from Sanremo to Zurich involves three uneventful InterCity and EuroCity trains. Having travelled more often to the north and the Baltic Sea, I am surprised at how quickly one can travel back home to Zurich from the Mediterranean Sea each time. I am still not used to this new ten-year-old Gotthard Base Tunnel. Grazie, ciao e a presto! 👋 #SanRemoto
Any passenger who was still sleepy at 7 o'clock on Sunday morning is wide awake now. #SanRemoto
Before leaving #Sanremo, let’s celebrate the station's underground 2000s charm once again. #SanRemoto
I didn't know there were direct trains from Ventimiglia to Milan. However, even though it's a classic, loco-hauled regional train, I'm glad I can spend the night in Sanremo. #SanRemoto
The #Tenda line is international, as the French trains run from Nice to Tende and the Italian trains from Cuneo to Ventimiglia, but crossing French territory. I have used the Italian one before, so I am feeling a bit lazy and haven't taken any pictures. #SanRemoto
