When I bought my current phone, I also got a screen protector for it. I wanted to break my cycle of buying a new phone every year or so, which meant planning for longevity.

Enter the tempered glass screen protector.

Last night, I abruptly and aggressively hugged the ground, and in doing so sent my phone off to fight its own fight in the battle with concrete.

Screen protector mauled, case mauled. Underlying tech? Protected and unscathed. Worst I had to worry about was the protector coming apart during extraction and replacement. (Pro tip: packing tape over the broken protector when replacing it.)

Moral of the story: Better a sacrificial screen protector at $20 to replace than a whole ass screen at $150+.

@dave Not even the biggest. There's 2tb+ bits out there. O.o

A new microsd card, this time for my gaming laptop, with 1.5tb of storage.

I remain mind blown at the sheer concept of such storage amounts on so tiny a piece of physical media. Just wild to me.

I'm running a one shot that involves my players sussing out a potential threat at a ball. RP heavy session - with a couple of twists.

- Rumor cards! Some true. Some false. Some somewhere between. I made up ten for six players - and I'm not going to hide from them that there are rumors they're not getting. :D

- The McGuffin of the session: All drinks are served in glasses that show you a memory from the last person who drank from the cup. Gives options for things like a sneaky type to make off with a suspect's glass to get a peek between their ears, while opening up RP between players. Wanna see some backstory? Share a drink!

Tonight's going to be fun.

If you ask AI to rewrite the entirety of an open-source program, do you still need to abide by the original license? In philosophy, this problem is known as the Slop of Theseus
Internal dialogue:
"Sure, there's WSL, but where's LSW?"
"Isn't that just Wine?"

Today's grump:

Ubuntu, I am *begging* you.

Install the firefox debian package.

Not the snap. Not the flatpak. The freaking. Debian. Package.

Sigh.

(I got it to, but that was *obnoxious.*)

I am somewhat regularly reminded that my hobbies leak into my work in odd ways.

Who uses 'perchance' in an official discussion, and ticket notes, aside from someone who spends her weekends describing kobolds making a tactical retreat?

Random side note:

This laptop came with a copilot button. (Ew.)

I used the input remapper. Now it's a terminal hotkey.

@dave It's a small, yeah. They're saying it's supposed to be super maneuverable, especially under boost. (It has thrusters built to increase maneuverability as such.)

I definitely don't envision this thing being even remotely cap stable in combat, so you're gonna be dancing hard.
