Not only students grow at this university. Its "applied", keep that in mind.

Put them in last week.

Quickly, I have to absolutely urgently to help the chair of the board of GÉANT, who inexplicably unexplained cannot access his geant-email and thus has to borrow a presidents(! no less) gmail-account, with something utterly urgent! !k! Europe, no, the world is at the brink of cyber-apocalypsis.

#scamoftheweek

Is this some insufficient elaborate scam for busy professors? You are out of luck, I have grading work to attend to. There is no other task on my schedule for today — because I will use any and every excuse to #procrastinate from grading exams.

Or is it just, that something found me which could be called "shotgun-whaling"? Because I'd like to start the day with creating some new and (arguably) funny terminology. It would make my day so much better to see such a thing make a small ripple through the fediverse. I am soooo much not phishing for boosts here! ;-)

Oh, look, the tea is empty, have to go and brew some new tea.

(The 'k' between the exclamation marks above becomes slightly more funny if you are typing with the neo2 layout.)

JuiceShop CtF is running with for teams (and my test-team)

Das StudierendenCafe an der Hochschule - jetzt noch mehr wie zuhause.

When it is as simple as writing

```
testfail 'drill @10.124.1.4 mx sireal.example | grep -q mail.sireal.example'
```

then it is hard to not quickly extend your script while Lateχ is compiling slides.

And while I am pushing out messages:

My IT-Security assignments this semester are running to my satisfaction and — I hope very much — also interesting for my students.

Current assignment is to write a simple ca service with ``openssl``. I'll publish the assignments somewhere in the future in something I already call IT-Security Assignments Repository.

As you can see in the pictures all services seem to be running wonderfully — this term stable from the beginning. And of course, if there would have been a read "FAIL" in the status, I would not post on Mastodon, but be busy fixing the bug. Thus there is a very hard selection bias.

Kleiner Juice-Shop-CtF auf dem [koggethon](https://informatik.hs-bremerhaven.de/koggethon/), noch führe ich knapp, aber die Konkurrenz ist auch gerade mit der Museumsführung beschäftigt.
Koggethon 2024

This looks like I have some relaxed reading in my near future. Bruce Schneier gives a broad view on hacking systems - explicitly including the non-computer kind of systems.

And the subtitle also hints towards some critical view on the distribution of power, maybe even wealth.
